We have currently received a hundreds of replies from 3rd class children all over the country and the competition has just opened.

Fernando Hernando (CSI) has been awarded with the IRCSET INSPIRE International Mobility Fellowship Scheme, which includes 30 months funded starting 16th August 2010. He will spend 18 months at San Diego State University with Prof. Michael O'Sullivan and 12 Months at UCD with Prof. Gary McGuire.

March 15-19 2010: Gary McGuire visited Sabanci University, Turkey, and gave three introductory lectures on APN Functions and Related Structures.

March 17-19 2010: Konstantinos Drakakis (CSI) attended CISS 2010 in Princeton, NJ, USA.

March 1-2 2010: Mayur Punekar (CSI) attended theworkshop "Linear Programming and Message-Passing Approaches to High-Density Parity-Check Codes and High-Density Graphical Models" in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Former CSI PostDoc, Dr. Vitaly Skachek also attended and presented a talk on "On the pseudocodeword redundancy". (Joint work with Jens Zumbrägel (CSI) & Mark F. Flanagan (CSI)).

Announcement:
The S3CM: Soria Summer School on Computational Mathematics is a series of annual international school mostly intended for Master, PhD students and Postdocs. This year the meeting will be devoted to the topic "Algebraic Geometric Modeling in Information Theory".
The school takes place in Soria from 12 to 16 July 2010.
