Intertrade Ireland FUSION scheme
A funding proposal for research collaboration has been approved under the Intertrade Ireland FUSION scheme: Mark Flanagan (CSI) will collaborate with Sembarc Ltd., a company in Lisburn, UK, on the topic of error-correction coding for 100Gb/s optical communications. Thanks to Emanuel Popovici (CSI) for his help with this.

ALCOMA 2010 (ALGEBRAIC COMBINATORICS AND APPLICATIONS [Designs and Codes] Conference
April 11-18 2010: Marcus Greferath (CSI) was an invited speaker at ALCOMA 2010 (ALGEBRAIC COMBINATORICS AND APPLICATIONS [Designs and Codes] Conference in Thurnau in Germany. This conference was organized by the University of Bayreuth.
On April 13th 2010 he presented a talk entitled "Ring-Linear Coding -- unde venis, quo vadis?”
Eimear Byrne (CSI), Geoff Walsh (CSI), Alison Sneyd (CSI) and Jens Zumbrägel (CSI) also attended the conference.
Alison Sneyd gave a talk entitled: "Constructions of Two-Weight Codes Over Finite Rings."
Eimear Byrne gave a talk entitled "On Codes and Sequences Over Finite Rings."
